Selected Achievements:

·        Faculty, Youngstown State University, since 1996.  Tenured, since 2000.  Associate Professor, 1996-2003.  Professor, since 2003.  Graduate Faculty, since 1999.

o       Director, Environmental Studies Programs (1996-2005).  Coordinated the undergraduate (since 1996) and graduate programs (Certificate since 1999 and Masters since 2001). 

o       Instructor in the following programs: environmental studies (undergraduate and graduate), geology (undergraduate), environmental engineering (graduate), and public health (graduate)(1996-present).

o       Chair, Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences, since June 2005.

o       Sabbatical year program in Italy, 2003-04, lecturing and research, University of Genoa and D’Appolonia S.p.A.

·        Consulting projects throughout the United States and in Italy, Spain, Sweden, Venezuela, the Caspian Sea Coast, Pakistan, and Korea;

·        Developed specialized techniques and hardware for underground and underwater television probes used in boreholes, monitoring wells, and mines;

·        Taught general geology, geomorphology, glacial geology, and field geology at Indiana University (1963-1967) and is a part-time instructor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carnegie-Mellon University (1987-present);

·        Developed a cooperative program with West Virginia University to offer graduate level courses in environmental sciences at the office (IT Corporation) after hours;

·        New York State Regents Scholarship in Science and Engineering (1959-63), NASA Traineeship (1964-67); Teaching Assistantships  at Indiana University (1963-67), the Certificate of Merit from the American Institute of Professional Geologists (1984), and Environmental education grants (NSF and Ohio EPA, 1996-2001).
