| Richard Pirko is the Producer and Technician for the Ward
Beecher Planetarium
at Youngstown State University and has also provided technical
assistance
to the Theater Department, the YSU Dance Ensemble and Dana School of
Music
with many productions.
He is a Fellow and member of the Great Lakes Planetarium Society and Middle Atlantic Planetarium Society, where he has provided many workshops over the years on Photography, Special Effects and Deaf Education in the Planetaruim. In addition to regular programs at the planetarium he provides special programs for Scouting badge requirements and programs in American Sign Language for the deaf community and area schools. Aerial photography by Mr. Pirko is on display at several sites of the Ohio Historical Society and in the Gallery of American Ethnography at the British Museum. Mr. Pirko is a licensed commercial pilot and aircraft owner with ratings for both powered aircraft and gliders. Aviation memberships include the Experimental Aircraft Association, Soaring Society of America and he is president of the Cleveland Soaring Society. Prior to working for Youngstown State University he was a Product Engineer and R&D designer in the Cleveland area. |
