Hi, I'm Frank Castronovo and welcome to my little corner of the web. To begin with, my home town is Montclair, N.J., located about ten miles west of New York City, but I've lived in Youngstown, Ohio since 1971. I am currently the chairperson of the Department of Theater and Dance and a Professor of Theater at Youngstown State University. My e-mail address is facastronovo@ysu.edu . My recreational interests include flying, sailing, scuba diving, making and playing folk and old-time string band instruments (guitar, banjo, dulcimers, et. al), cooking, watercoloring, low-power amateur radio (K8FAC), model trains and riding my bike. I am a graduate of Case Western Reserve University (B.A., 1965), the University of Arizona (M.A. 1970), and Kent State University (Ph.D. 1980). An arts educator for over three decades, I have directed or designed hundreds of college and community theater productions, and I love what I do for a living!
My professional areas of interest include the history of theater and film, the role of theater and film in creating social change, the study of the performing arts in American popular culture, and the uses of digital technology in performing arts education.
Finally, because following the links is fun and one of the primary activities on the web, I have included a few more theater sites of interest.
