While FrontPage offers many different components you can use to make your Web site more efficient and user friendly, we will learn here about four:

Hit counters

Hover buttons

Banner ad manager

Search forms

Hit counters enable you to keep track of how many visitors your page has had. While they are certainly not foolproof (visitors with nothing better to do can change the counter simply by clicking the Refresh button on their browser), they can help give you an idea of how popular your site is by logging each new visitor.

Hover Buttons are graphics that change appearance when you hover the mouse over them. You can add effects to a button, such as glow, bevel in or out, color fill, etc. You can also give them a custom look and feel by adding your own graphics and sounds.

The Banner Ads Manager is an interesting tool that allows you to take a collection of graphics and make a little motion picture out of them. Using transition effects, you can, for example, have six photos that cycle, one at a time, and fade into one another.

Search Forms enable the user to find text information on your site. You can configure how the form looks, how the engine searches, and how results are displayed.
